We survive soley on donations and the kindness of our volunteers. Each month we try to hold special events and fundraisers to help with the costs of medical bills, food and supplies for Retrievers that are in need of our help.

DECEMBER
December 7th- Santa Paws is coming to town! Bring your fur friend and family to have your picture taken with Santa. If you do not have a fur friend, we will have some available retrievers there to pose with you if you'd like. Proceeds will go to help more animals during the holiday season. Many people do not know that many state run shelters close between Christmas and New Years. Because funding is limited, many shelters (especially in the south) are forced to euthanize all their animals, as no one will be able to care for them during the week. Every year OCC makes room to take in who we can during the holidays. One Christmas we heard about 14 puppies scheduled to be gassed on Christmas Eve. With help from fundraisers like Santa Paws, we were able to save all the puppies and pay for their safe transport from the South to NY.

So tell your friends and family to come down to Pennings Garden Center on December 7th for a fun afternoon to get you in the holiday spirit. We will have holiday music, refreshments, raffles and goodies to buy. You can even pick out your Christmas tree! Hope to see you there!
